NYC Administration for Children's Services - Teenage Services Act Program (TASA)

TASA programs work with pregnant or parenting adolescents who are receiving Public Assistance or Medicaid only. TASA's case managers help mothers and fathers under age 20 to manage their new concerns, take control of their lives, and learn how to provide better futures for themselves and their children.
TASA case managers help TASA teenagers and their children get the services they need to be healthy and continue their education. TASA case managers:
* get to know the teenager through a family assessment
* work with the teenager to create a mutually agreeable service plan
* help the teen obtain the services she or he needs and wants
* visit regularly with the teenager
* follow-up with the teenager and with his or her referral agencies to ensure that the services are being given appropriately.
What services can TASA help teens obtain?
* health services for mother, father, and child - both before and after birth.
* entitlements such as public assistance, Medicaid, and food stamps
* stable living arrangements
* education
* family planning
* parenting skills training
* job skill training
Who is eligible?
To be eligible, the teen must be pregnant or parenting, in receipt of Public Assistance and Medicaid (or Medicaid only), and must enroll before their 20th birthday.
